Abstract
Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥusayn Ibn ʿAbd Allāh Ibn Al-Ḥasan ibn "Ali Ibn Sīnā was born in 980 CE/370 AH in his mother's home village of Afshana near Bukhārā, the capital of the Sāmānid dynasty in central Asia (present day Uzbekistan).
